3rd Line Butterfly
렉앤플레이가 2010년의 언젠가 해야지 하고 욕심 내고 있었던 오프라인 공연은 생각보다 빨리 실현 되었습니다. 아니 다시 생각해보니 그냥 저질러 버렸던 것 같아요. 우리들은 공연과 영상과 전시를 묶어보려고 했고 그 중 비디오 작업을 어떤 식으로 공연에 반영할 수 있을지 고민에 고민에 고민을 거듭하며 어떻게 할 것인지 결정을 미루었습니다. (이 에피소드의 업로드는 더욱이나 그렇게 되었고요…) 한 달에 가까운 지연은 결국 가장 맨 처음에 제안되었던 아이디어 중 하나를 채택하는 것으로 끝이 났습니다. ‘공연 현장에서 한 에피소드를 촬영하자!’였던 것이지요. 이런 쉽지 않은 제안에 응해 줄 밴드가 누가 있을까 노심초사 했지만 기쁘게도 3호선 버터플라이가 응해주셨습니다.
An opportunity to realise one of our future projects, to throw an offline event, came earlier to us a bit earlier than we thought. I should add that it actually took quite a while to actually make it happen even after we knew we could do this. We wanted to do some video work in this event, but didn’t know how to. After nearly a month of our procrastinations, in all its forms, we decided on shooting a new episode on-stage, which was one of our initial ideas... Finding a band to do this with us was going to be another thing, but fortunately 3rd line butterfly said okay!
렉앤플레이에서 처음으로 시도해본 멀티앵글 촬영은 녹록지 않았습니다. 생각보다 너무 많이 와주신 관객분들 덕에 (정말 감사해요!) 카메라의 동선은 한정되었고 공연 감상을 방해드리고 있다는 죄책감까지 저흴 괴롭혔지요. 이 자리를 빌어 공연에 오신 여러분들에게 진심으로 사과 드립니다.
하지만 저희와 다르게 3호선 버터플라이의 연주는 흐트러짐이 없었고 그 에너지는 수 많은 관객분들의 막차를 놓치게 만들었습니다! 밤 12시가 넘은 시간의 앵콜은 죄송함과 피로함, 그리고 뭉클함이 더해져 저희를 오묘한 상태로 이끌었습니다.
Multi-angle shooting wasn’t too easy as this was our first time. Thanks to unexpectedly many people who came to the event, we couldn’t really move as much as we needed and knowing we were blocking the audience’s view was not helping either. We would like to make a proper apology again.
Despite us being lame, 3rd line butterfly’s performance was flawless, and its radiating energy led quite a few to miss their last trains. Slightly past midnight, RECANDPLAY OFFLINE was ending when people were shouting encore, leaving us feeling a combination of mixed feelings.
공연 당일의 라이브클럽 쌤은 많이들 와주신 덕분에 꽤나 붐비었습니다. 저희의 영상으로만 접했을지도 모르는 뮤지션들의 공연을 직접 보고 계시는 관객 분들이 있을 거라는 생각에 저희는 꽤나 뿌듯했답니다. 함께 해준 10cm, 데미안더밴드, 더 퍼피캣츠, 밤섬해적단, 아마츄어 증폭기에게는 다시 한번 감사하다는 말을 전해드리고 싶어요. 이들 밴드의 영상작업은 미처 하지 못했지만 당일 공연의 분위기를 조금이라도 느끼고 싶은 분들은 저희 Flickr를 확인해 주세요!
The venue, where we had the stage and the screening of our b-cuts in the room next to it, got quite packed. It was very nice to witness people seeing bands whose music they might have never heard before knew RECANDPLAY.NET.
